Where exactly does the Duroc pig come from? There are various theories behind its origin.
According to some sources, this breed came from Africa and was introduced to America via
the slave trade. Other sources mention that Christopher Columbus transported the breed to
Novia Scotia in America. The one thing we can be sure of is that our Duroc pigs are descended from the Red Durocs in New York and Jersey Reds in New Jersey. We believe that is the most plausible explanation.
Our company
We are a world-class wagyu Kobe and Duroc premium meat trading company and we are part of AWA. That is why we must abide by the highest quality standards both in production and in the employees of our company. Our Wagyu cattle farms are located in Uruguay, and at this moment we have 6000 heads of this breed. All our products have Certificates of Origin, Health Certificates, Packing List, Traceability Report for each batch, Invoice and Air Waybill. We ensure optimal storage conditions until arrival in the destination country, and we advise to ensure compliance with the same standards, once the product has cleared customs in the destination country. All cuts are sent vacuum packed, with Wagyu labeling and degree of maturity, in boxes of up to 20 kg. At the airport, the boxes are placed on plastic pallets, packed with dry ice and a thermal blanket. Under these conditions, they are taken to the airport cooling chamber until the moment of shipment.

We combine the Wagyu genetic with the alimentation from the latinoamerican plains.
Thanks to the large extensions of our breeding farms in Uruguay, the livestock is brought up on natural pastures till 400 kg weight after when they are sent to the feedlot for a 300 days period. In this way, their meat aquire a large quantity of omega-3, which is only provided by pastures. That's the recipe to create a meat with same tenderness but more taste than others breeding farms, where the live stock are in feedlot about 500 days.
After the 300 days in feedlot alimentation, the top cuts are left to mature. We offer three different types of matures: 4/5 months, 6/7 months and 8/9 months.

With the collaboration of university of Ghent specialists, we developed a
feed formulation for our pigs based on in-depth research. So far we account with over 160,000 live stocks.
So we focused on three pillars:
- TASTE AND TENDERNESS OF THE MEAT: we chose olive oil as a source of fat in the pig feed for a specific reason. Olive oil enhances the
taste of the meat and makes it even tenderer. Thanks to our pig feed program, fat starts to
form at just the right time in the animals' development. - YOUR HEALTH: as everyone knows, olive oil is recommended for healthy cooking. This oil contains very few
of the saturated fats that are harmful for our health, and has lots of mono-unsaturated fatty
acids. Our pigs absorb this oil as part of their feed, so we find a similar amount of fatty acids
in the pigs' body fat. This helps to prevent human heart disease. - A FIXED FORMULATION: the ingredients in our pig feed are based on scientific research. The basis of this feed is a
blend of pure raw grains (wheat, barley, maize), fibers and proteins. We add olive oil to this
mixture as a source of fat. By always sticking to the same formulation, we are able to guarantee
the consistent quality of our uniquely tender pork meat.

Please bear in mind that you must contact us in time, because we have to meet the requested maturity time. Shipments are made on pallets of 700/800 kg each. The customer must inquire at the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the 481 "High Quality Meat" quota. The ministry will tell you when you can import, and based on that information, we will answer how much we can supply in those times.
